about

Aidan Casserly -

"Originally, this lyric was written about my own Grandfather who fought Facism in WW1 and survived. Of course when I say survived I mean he returned home. But does anyone truly return home after war?
Very proud of the emotions and the sentiment in this lyric. They are timeless and current and we should all take heed to them."

lyrics

'A Soldier's House'

Sighs put salt in my throat
Beyond the art of dying
As rain from the South-East falls
Open colours erase the mind
Gas in the throat,
They put gas in my throat
Dissatisfactions, no caressing

[Chorus]
Wake up covered in sweat alone
Nothing but fear between us hold me now
Starless as water you cradle my skin
Leaving thunder over oceans
Trenches left for dragging cold ....
Dragging cold

The ridiculous persuasion of War
At the heart of a Soldiers house
Dark minds bright devils of uncertainty
Watching over my life
Who is it? Who is it?
So you know my love
I sent you kisses in the rain
I sent you silence in the soil
Silhouettes dancing in the wind
Silhouettes dancing in the wind
Pregnant seeds within the soil
Forgotten by the sea,
By the sea ......

[Chorus]
Wake up covered in sweat alone
Nothing but fear between us, hold me now
Starless as water you cradle my skin
Leaving thunder over oceans
Trenches left for dragging cold
Dragging cold
I sent you kisses in the rain, kisses in the rain
