Mike presented me with a wonderful backing track, which had excellent drive and pacing and a building effect. When I started to write the vocal part, I felt that the fire element would be a perfect metaphor for this. 'Flames' came quickly soon after that and also the use of hot and cold as human personality traits. The blend of pure poetry with driving rock/electronic layers is a major attraction to me.
