Louise Brooks, the legendary American actress/icon from the 1920s/30s, had a brief career, and her timeless look and style is still incredibly ravishing. A natural beauty, a trained dancer, who left Hollywood to pursue serious film making in pre war Germany and who’s acting style was at least 30 years ahead of her time. She said she didn’t know what she was doing, which makes her talent even more stellar. Her life was a tale of extremes, and of incredible highs and lows. Her autobiography ‘Lulu in Hollywood’, written when she was living as a recluse, is so honest and so moving. As she suffered from devastating arthritis, which had her bed ridden, I included her own words in the chorus and as a starting point to the song. The music is a wall of beauty, an almost Kate Bush wall of beauty.
