about

Words from Aidan Casserly:

When Mike shared with me the original demo, we first talked about the kind of vocal feel for the song which we felt might work. There's a Soul/R&B and to my way of hearing it, an Isley Brothers vibe to this song.

The sweetness and innocence of first love, a Summer love, is one that can make an instant impact. I see it as a driving song, in a convertible, with the feeling of no worries or stress. That Americana side in pop music is something which can hit certain presets for the listener, and lyrically I wanted to try and obtain that kind of feel.

lyrics

‘Sugar Cane’

When we say goodnight
I’m left dreaming
Over and over I’m left dreaming again
In the morning
Sun on the horizon

Sweet like sugar cane
Fresh as Summer rain

Let me in
(to love you)
Harmony
(let me sing it)
Baby work it
(got some work to do)
For you
For you, say it again
For you
For you, are all I need ....
Let me in sugar cane, sugar cane

Your tiny fingers in mine
Your tender kisses with mine
I never wanted more than I could have
Gazing on a hopeless dream

Sweet like sugar cane
Fresh as Summer rain

Let me in
(to love you)
Harmony
(let me sing it)
Baby work it
(got some work to do)
For you
For you, say it again
For you
For you, are all I need ....
Let me in sugar cane, sugar cane

Silver Moon began from a tiny seed of friendship, into an emerging artistic bond, to work towards their debut album ‘Empty Rooms’.
